Well, 2024 was quite a good year for the range dates. Had a lot of people show up and good times all around. Sadly we didn’t get to go to the range for the last few months due to my own personal situation (moving is expensive and time consuming) and Ezard’s departure.
Then on December 5th 2024 we were hit with another Order in Council by the government that banned another 324 different firearms. Here’s the list of those ones. This new ban puts a bit of a dent in our rifles we can take to shoot.
There was talk of yet more coming in February, however it’s hard to say what will happen there. The government seems to be in some turmoil. And these round of gun bans don’t seemed to have helped them or done much to sway public image of the leading party’s actions/behaviours.
All that being said though, I still fully intend to continue range days. And to that end we are long overdue to have a range day. There are still a few different firearms we have and can enjoy. Currently I am eyeing March 8th for the next range date (and the first of 2025). But stay tuned for more details.
